About the East Asheville Recreation Club
Brief History of the East Asheville Recreation Club (EARC)

Just minutes from downtown Asheville, the EARC is a unique, private community pool and tennis courts situated in the beautiful Haw Creek. Started by residents of Haw Creek in 1967, the club has provided great family experiences for generations. We dramatically renovated the pool in 2004 – extending it to competition pool length, building a children’s wading area, adding a slide, and providing a handicap accessible ramp. Our youth swim team, the Crocs, was also started that year and serves as a valuable resource for our members and the greater Asheville community.

The EARC is a 501(c)7 nonprofit organization and continues to be run by a volunteer board of directors, hiring staff from the membership and community for pool management and guards.

For more information on the history of the EARC, please contact the EARC board.
